NHL playoffs: Edmonton, Boston and Tampa equal – St. Louis continue | NHL News

Match point fended off: Ice hockey superstar Leon Draisaitl and his Edmonton Oilers initially averted the early exit from the NHL playoffs and can continue to hope for the quarter-finals.

The Oilers won game six at the Los Angeles Kings 4-2, leveling in the best-of-seven series.

Late victory for the Oilers

The decisive factor was the Canadians’ strong finish. Five minutes from time, the Oilers took a 3-2 lead after Tyson Barrie set up Draisaitl before Evander Kane’s second goal sealed the game with 60 seconds remaining. The showdown for a place in the next round will now take place on Saturday night, the Oilers have home advantage.

Draisaitl has only made it past the first play-off round once with his club. The big goal of the native of Cologne, who had again set personal bests (55 goals and 55 assists) in his eighth NHL main round, is the title.

Boston and Tampa also equalize – St. Louis continue

The Boston Bruins (5-2 against the Carolina Hurricanes) and the Tampa Bay Lightning (4-3 after overtime against the Toronto Maple Leafs) also equalized 3-3.

The St. Louis Blues, meanwhile, advanced 5-1 to the Minnesota Wild, winning the series 4-2.
