The Vegas players managed a perfect turn, they lost the first two matches of the series, but they managed to win in the next four and they will present themselves in the top four for the third time from their four seasons in the profile. “I don’t believe there was anyone who, after the first two matches, believed we would win the next four. And you see, it happened. This is something amazing for us, ” said the Vegas coach Peter DeBoer.
Friday’s match was tied to 3: 3, then only the home hockey players made their mark. In the 40th minute, he broke the draw with his first goal in the playoffs, Alex Pietrangelo, and William Carrier and Max Pacioretty secured the lead in the third period. Goalkeeper Marc-Andre Fleury performed 30 successful interventions, recorded his 89th victory in the playoffs and became 4th in the historical tables.
Pietrangelo plays in Vegas for the first season and after the match he said: “This team has a winning spirit, which has been building here since the first year in the league. Various players came here, but this remained. It started here from day one and it’s still true, “ said the 31-year-old defender.
Colorado wanted to go further after the triumph in the basic part, but this time it was not enough for the compact “knights”. “I’m really proud of these guys, I’m proud of the season we had. However, it is clear that you will never be satisfied and happy unless you win the last match of the season. So this is a disappointment, ” told Captain Colorado for nhl.com Gabriel Landeskog.
