Record for NHL star Alexander Ovechkin: the 37-year-old Russian scored the lead in his 2-3 Washington Capitals against the Arizona Coyotes. It was his 787 goals for the capital’s club: no player has ever scored more for a franchise. Ovechkin is now one goal ahead of Red Wings icon Gordie Howe, who held the best count since 1971.
