– He is a quality player who can play in all positions, says Canucks coach Rick Tocchet. A right-handed hitter was something we really needed and I think he’s over 55 percent (draws won) so he fills that need for us.
In Lindholm, the Canucks got another All-Star player in the team. On Thursday, which was the first day of the All-Star weekend, he shared his thoughts on the move.
– I am happy to come to Vancouver. They are one of the best teams in the league right now. They have good goalkeeping, great defenders, a lot of good players and they have done a great job so far. I’m really excited and looking forward to getting started.
Lindholm found out about the three while he was on a plane on his way back to Calgary after a mini-vacation in Mexico. He says that a move was in the plans, but that it was still a bit of a shock when he got the news.
– I knew around New Year that it would probably happen, but I didn’t know when or to which team. I was prepared, but at the same time, every time you get three, it’s a bit of a shock.
– I haven’t been trained during the current season before, so it was a bit stressful packing last night and trying to make sure you didn’t forget anything. But I’m pretty calm about myself so it always works out.
The 29-year-old forward from Boden has accounted for 32 points (9+23) in 49 for the Flames this season and was selected as the club’s representative at All-Star weekend.
