More than 50 civil organizations demanded that all the candidates and candidates of the current electoral process that incorporate actions for the care of cancer in children, adolescents and Adults.
Through a letter disseminated on social networks, the associations asked the applicants to make their public commitment to include actions to protect the Health of people living with Cancer.
They warned that during the two months that the applicants will be on the campaign, inevitably more than 15 thousand people in Mexico will die from the Cancer, of which 900 will be women with breast cancer.
In turn, they estimated that in these two months of electoral campaigns, there will be more than a thousand girls and boys who will be diagnosed with this disease and a total of 14 thousand new cases of adults with hematological cancer will be added.
The organizations They presented five events that require an urgent solution and asked the candidates to assume the commitment to attend to them in case of reaching the position to which they aspire.
In the first place, they asked to immediately address the “real and existing shortage of cancer drugs for minors and adults,” the document reads.
In addition, they request to defend and increase the public budget for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and research of cancer; incorporate care for all types of cancer into the National Compendium of Inputs for the Health of the Insabi and increasing the oncology hospital infrastructure, as well as the number of places for doctors specializing in oncology and hematology.
The fifth item on the agenda is to ensure that the National Compendium of Health Supplies ?? is the same for all institutions, that is, universal ??.
The signatories assured that more than 20 thousand public positions will be renewed in the current electoral process.
