N’Golo Kanté Makes Anticipated Comeback for Chelsea After Seven Months

Absent from the field since August, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kanté took part in a friendly match behind closed doors against Charlton on Friday. The French international (31) played an hour before leaving without any physical problem.

N’Golo Kanté’s return to competition has never been so close. Injured in the hamstring on August 14 against Tottenham, the Chelsea midfielder has already missed a large part of the season. But after seven months of absence, the international tricolor (31 years old – 53 caps) finally played again this Friday.

The former Caen player took part in a friendly match behind closed doors against Charlton, a League One team (3rd English division). He played an hour before leaving without physical concern (victory of the Blues 3-0).

Objectif Real Madrid

Last week, Chelsea coach Graham Potter said his midfielder had to do a series of training sessions before playing his first minutes in competition.

N’Golo Kanté was part of his group last Saturday during the Premier League match between Chelsea and Everton (2-2) at Stamford Bridge but the Frenchman did not come into play. In difficulty in the league (10th) but qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a reunion against Real Madrid, Chelsea must still play at least 13 games by the end of the season. The presence of N’Golo Kanté, especially in C1, would be real good news for the London team.
