NFT: Meta announces change on Facebook and Instagram

In the coming weeks, for example, it will no longer be possible to share NFTs on Instagram and Facebook.

Meta will gradually remove features around NFTs – from English “non-fungible token” – on its Instagram and Facebook services. This was reported by a Meta manager, Stéphane Kasriel, on Twitter.

Meta boss Marc Zuckerberg has promised to work on the efficiency of his business and refine his priorities. NFTs are therefore no longer part of it. In the coming weeks, for example, it will no longer be possible to share NFTs on Instagram and Facebook.

NFTs are digital ownership certificates secured using the blockchain. The system is applied to digital art and collectibles.

The NFT craze reached its peak when a piece of digital art sold for over $69 million two years ago.
