Lorenzo’s Locks: NFL Week 17 picks and predictions
With Week 17 approaching, Lorenzo Reyes shares the best bets that he thinks you should cash in on.
Sports Seriously
The Los Angeles Rams (8-7) are making one of the most impressive playoff pushes in the NFL, and they’ll look to build their case on the road against the New York Giants (5-10).
One of the most dangerous teams in the NFL might be the Rams, who beat the New Orleans Saints on “Thursday Night Football” to move back into a playoff spot. Behind an offense that is scoring in bunches, Los Angeles has won five of its last six, and is becoming a squad that teams may not want to face in the playoffs.
The Tommy DeVito experience in New York may be coming to an end, as the Giants dropped their second straight game while their quarterback was benched in a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The loss officially eliminated New York from playoff contention, putting a cap on what has been a down season for the “G-Men.”

Lorenzo Reyes: Rams 30, Giants 17
Matthew Stafford is on a tear, with 1,159 yards and a perfect 10:0 touchdown-to-interception ratio in Los Angeles’ last four games. The Giants are shuffling quarterbacks again and still don’t have an offensive identity. I like the Rams here in a big way.
Tyler Dragon: Rams 24, Giants 20
Winners of five of their last six games, the Rams are one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now. Rams WR Puka Nacua is emerging as a legitimate rookie of the year candidate. The Rams have surprised a lot of doubters this season. Sean McVay is showing why he’s one of the best coaches in the NFL.
Safid Deen: Rams 24, Giants 16
The Rams are ascending at the right time, winning five of their last six games with a potent offense. They should be able to go on the road and beat the Giants, whose quarterback situation is influx once again after last week.
Victoria Hernandez: Rams 26, Giants 23
A major question mark here is who the Giants will play at quarterback. It might not make a difference, but Tyrod Taylor showed his veteran leadership in the second half last week. Either way, the Rams are competing for a playoff spot and Matthew Stafford looks as comfortable as ever with his wide receivers. Maybe take the moneyline since it’s a road game for Los Angeles and a whole touchdown spread against this unpredictable New York team feels like a lot.
Jordan Mendoza: Rams 27, Giants 20
Puka Nacua has a solid chance to make NFL history with the most receiving yards for a rookie against a mediocre defense. Los Angeles is clicking right now, and the game won’t be as close as the score seems, as the Rams have been giving up points late in games when they get comfortable leads.
