Tom Brady (47) is back!
The most successful NFL player of all time is returning to the league. Brady announced his retirement in February 2023. After a year off, the league now has him back.
But not as a quarterback, but as a TV expert!
Brady had already announced in February 2022 that he would retire. Shortly thereafter, the turnaround took place. The quarterback played one more season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In May 2022, he signed a mega deal with US broadcaster Fox. Brady could even choose when he would start. For ten years as a co-commentator, he will receive an incredible $375 million – more than in his entire professional career. There he was “only” $317 million.

Brady was actually supposed to start working as a TV expert last season, but he didn’t feel ready for it. “I never normally paid attention to the commentator and only paid attention to the quarterback or the defense. So it was something totally new for me,” Brady said a few weeks ago at an event organized by the sporting goods manufacturer Fanatics.
That’s why he used the past year to practice. He spoke on the phone with almost every co-commentator in the USA and rehearsed several times with his partner and main commentator from Fox, Kevin Burkhardt.
Brady is convinced: “I think I can offer a pretty unique perspective that a lot of people will like. It’s going to be a lot of hard work. But it’s also going to be a lot of fun.”

But one thing is certain for him: He doesn’t want to be too critical. “There are so many parents and children watching. I don’t always want to say what I think. For me, after an interception, I always thought I was the worst quarterback in the world. That’s why I have to make sure I pay attention,” said Brady.
He will make his debut for Fox today at the Cleveland Browns game against the Dallas Cowboys. Kick-off is at 10:25 p.m. In Germany, Brady can only be seen via the NFL Game Pass.
