Card #1 quarterback Kyler Murray was sidelined for the second straight game with a hamstring injury.
Murray was declared inactive for this duel played at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. Wearing a jacket, he was on the field during pre-game warmups running and throwing the ball.
For the second time in a row, Colt McCoy thus got the start to make up for the loss to Murray. The 36-year-old veteran led his club to victory last week against the Los Angeles Rams.
This time it was very different for McCoy, who was limited to 218 passing yards and fell victim to an interception without throwing a touchdown pass.
McCoy was 3-1 his last two seasons when he had to fill in for Murray due to injury.
