NFL: The 49ers beat the Cardinals 38-10 to take the lead in the West Division

MEXICO CITY — Jimmy Garoppolo had four touchdown passes, including two to tight end George Kittle, as the San Francisco 49ers beat the Arizona Cardinals 38-10 in a Monday Night NFL game.

Little disturbed by the opposing defensive front, » Jimmy G he also dealt two passes for the major to Brandon Aiyuk, as the Arizona secondary had no answer for the Niners’ air play.

San Francisco (6-4) thus improves its chances of reaching the playoffs, while the race is tight in the National Association.

In the West Division, the 49ers surpass the Seattle Seahawks, who have an identical record. However, so far Kyle Shanahan’s team has won all four of their intra-division duels.

It was the fifth NFL regular season game played in Mexico City and the first since 2019.

Technically, it was a home game for the Cardinals, but the cheering and boisterous crowd of 78,427 fans at the Estadio Azteca heavily favored the 49ers.

They were especially deafening when Kittle and Deebo Samuel – the latter rushing – hit majors from 39 yards out.

Card #1 quarterback Kyler Murray was sidelined for the second straight game with a hamstring injury.

Murray was declared inactive for this duel played at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. Wearing a jacket, he was on the field during pre-game warmups running and throwing the ball.

For the second time in a row, Colt McCoy thus got the start to make up for the loss to Murray. The 36-year-old veteran led his club to victory last week against the Los Angeles Rams.

This time it was very different for McCoy, who was limited to 218 passing yards and fell victim to an interception without throwing a touchdown pass.

McCoy was 3-1 his last two seasons when he had to fill in for Murray due to injury.
