Help from Dallas Fire-Rescue

In a social media post, the Chargers thanked the Dallas Fire Department for their quick response and professionalism. At around 7:30 p.m. local time, firefighters helped those trapped by lifting them “one at a time” through a ceiling panel into an adjacent elevator. “The Los Angeles Chargers thank Dallas Fire-Rescue for their quick response, professionalism and significant effort to ensure everyone’s safety,” the team said in a statement.

Technical difficulties and rescue operation

A technician failed in his attempt to get the elevator running again, so the fire department sent its Urban Search and Rescue Team. In total, about 15 people were affected by the incident, according to WFAA reported.

It was not immediately known which Chargers players were trapped in the elevator, but a source told ESPN’s Kris Rhim that Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh invited all members of Dallas Fire-Rescue to a meal in the team dining room afterward.
