Oops – that wasn’t planned…
NFL legend Shannon Sharpe (56) has gone viral with a saucy sex mishap. On Wednesday, he accidentally started a live stream on his Instagram account (3.2 million followers). You can hear moaning and various sexual comments. After a few minutes, the stream was ended. By then, however, the video had already been recorded and distributed on the Internet.

Sex mishap for NFL legend!
Particularly bitter for Sharpe: At the time of the live stream, more than 6,000 fans were watching and flooding the comment section. Users wrote: “What’s going on here?”, “Sharpe, you’re live right now!” or “How embarrassing”. All that was visible in the clip was a wall.
Shortly after the incident, the three-time Super Bowl champion announced that his account had been hacked. In a story, the NFL icon wrote: “Attention, my Instagram was hacked this morning, my team and I are working diligently to figure it out.”

Shortly afterwards, Sharpe admitted that he himself could be heard in the sex video. In an episode of his ESPN podcast “Nightcap,” he said: “I’m very embarrassed. I’m a very private person. The audio was there for the whole world to hear. I’m very disappointed in myself. Not because of the act, but because the audio was there.”
Then he explains: “I didn’t know about IG Live (Instagram’s livestream feature; ed.). I’ve never turned on IG Live, so I don’t know how it works.” And: “Suddenly people are calling me: ‘Shannon, you’re on IG Live. They can hear that you’ve had sex.’ My heart sank. I just have to tell the truth, my phone wasn’t hacked, I was sexually active.”
The sex clip quickly went viral on social media. Sharpe’s explanation video had over 300,000 live viewers on YouTube.

During his career, Sharpe played for the Denver Broncos (1990-1999, 2002, 2003) and Baltimore Ravens (2000 to 2001), winning the Super Bowl three times (1997, 1998, 2000). He ended his active career in 2003 and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011. Since August 2023, the former tight end has worked as an analyst and presenter for ESPN.
