NFL Fantasy Tips for Week 1: Trevor Lawrence found food-
1/22
The new NFL season is in the starting blocks and with it the fantasy leagues. For week 1, we’re seeing a debutant in the spotlight, while an established star should stay out.
2/22
Quarterbacks, STARTS – Jalen Hurts, Eagles (@Falcons): Hurts should immediately play a big role among new coaches and against an opponent who had massive problems against QBs last year – through the air and on the ground. Hurts could be worth it early on.
3/22
Ryan Tannehill, Titans (vs. Cardinals): For the first time ever, Tannehill has two top receivers at his side and plays against the Cardinals, whose secondary is absolutely idle on cornerback. In addition, Arizona will also score, so a shootout threatens.
4/22
Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars (@Texans): We should see the Jaguars’ full offense with Lawrence for the first time in week 1. And that could make a direct statement against what is arguably the worst team in the NFL this season.
5/22
Quarterbacks, SITS – Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers (@Bills): The Steelers are going into a matchup against a strong defense that has improved in Pass Rush with an even weaker O-Line than last year. And Big Ben is a question mark anyway.
6/22
Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins (@Patriots): Left Tackle Austin Jackson (Covid) is threatened with failure and so the already reformed O-Line in front of Tua will be even more susceptible to a now again imposing Front Seven of the Patriots under Belichick …
7/22
Matthew Stafford, Rams (vs. Bears): In his Rams debut, Stafford has to face the strong defense of the Bears, with whom he has always had his problems. There could be a defensive battle here.
8/22
Running Backs, STARTS – Gus Edwards, Ravens (@Raiders): JK Dobbins and Justice Hill are down, so Edwards will certainly see numerous touches with the best running team in the league (with failures on receivers).
9/22
Sony Michel, Rams (vs. Bears): Run Game will continue to be a key for the Rams and Michel was not imported expensively for nothing. He’s going to be heavily involved in LA right away.
10/22
James Robinson, Jaguars: Travis Etienne will miss the entire season, so last year’s starter Robinson will keep his role and presumably play in a similar role. That means: He will also be a factor in the passing game.
11/22
Running Back, SITS – Darrell Henderson, Rams (vs. Bears): Henderson should also be a factor, but with Michel in front of his nose and without knowing how this combo will be divided, one should be more careful here.
12/22
Josh Jacobs, Raiders (vs. Ravens): Apart from the fact that Kenyan Drake is now in the backfield, the question arises of how the run game should work against the strong Ravens front. There are safer starting candidates on RB.
13/22
Myles Gaskin, Dolphins (@Patriots): Gaskin is the Dolphins’ RB1 against a much improved Patriots run defense who will likely pounce on him to challenge Tua.
14/22
Wide Receiver, STARTS – Robby Anderson, Panthers (vs. Jets): Revenge Game Alert! Against his previous team and on the debut of Sam Darnold, Anderson should have the edge over the weak secondary of the Jets.
15/22
Deebo Samuel, 49ers (@Lions): Against one of the weakest teams this season, Samuel as the top stop for Garoppolo and / or Lance should get numerous touches and cause a lot of damage.
16/22
Jerry Jeudy, Broncos (@Giants): Maybe not the most obvious start, but Jeudy will certainly see his targets in the slot from Bridgewater, who is more risky and prefers short passes. This is where Jeudy comes in.
17/22
Wide Receiver, SITS – Kenny Golladay, Giants (vs. Broncos): Vic Fangio finally has “his” defense together with a strong pass rush and an overwhelming and confusing secondary. So Golladay’s debut could be rather calm.
18/22
Michael Gallup, Cowboys (@Bucs): Usually Gallup is a safe bet, but Dak Prescott will have little time to pass against the strong front of the Bucs, so he’s more likely to look for Cooper and Lamb.
19/22
Allen Robinson, Bears (@Rams): Robinson is a star, but the combination of Andy Dalton as QB and allegedly shutdown corner Jalen Ramsey as his direct opponent suggests evil.
20/22
Tight End, START – Jonnu Smith, Patriots (vs. Dolphins): Smith was relatively longer on the pitch in the summer than his TE colleagues. In addition, Jones will avoid passes to the outside against the strong corners, so Smith becomes an important factor directly.
21/22
Tight End, SIT – Gerald Everett, Seahawks (@Colts): Everett is the clear starter with the Seahawks, but it is still unclear how he will handle more time without his partner Higbee. The Colts are good against TEs and Everett is not a Wilson focus.
22/22
SLEEPER – Damien Harris, Running Back, Patriots (vs. Dolphins): Has it been all over the place? Harris is the new lead back of the Patriots and even without Newton the team will continue to run a lot – especially against the strong Dolphins Pass coverage!
