NFL | Saquon Barkley dominates the running game in the Eagles’ victory over the Commanders

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Washington Commanders 26-18 this morning and added their eighth victory of the season, in which running back Saquon Barkley was the star of the game with two touchdowns and 146 yards on 26 carries.

Barkley, 27, has ten touchdowns in his first season with the Eagles.

It is Barkley’s fourth game of the season with at least two touchdowns. His best record is three touchdowns in the first week, during Philadelphia’s 34-29 victory over the Green Bay Packers.

Brian Robinson scored the only touchdown of the first half on a one-yard run and the Commanders extended the lead early in the third quarter on a 45-yard field goal by Zane Gonzalez.

But the best of the meeting was yet to come: Philadelphia scored 23 unanswered points in the second halfincluding both of Barkley’s touchdowns.

In a duel of youth and experience between quarterbacks, Jalen Hurts had 221 yards completing 18 of 28 passes for Philadelphia while Jayden Daniels finished with 191 yards and a touchdown.

Daniels, 23 years old and in his first season in the NFL, threw his third interception of the season.

The Eagles extend their streak of consecutive victories to six, this of particular importance, since it was against their immediate rival in the NFC East division, which leads with an 8-2 record over the Commanders, at 7-4.
