The New England Patriots with the German football professional Jakob Johnson have preserved their chances for the playoffs with a superior win against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Patriots won 45-0 on Sunday and inflicted the highest NFL bankruptcy in their history on the Chargers. Johnson caught a pass from quarterback Cam Newton and again made his contribution to the important success as a blocker. Newton ran two touchdowns himself, setting an NFL record. The defending champion won his home game against the Denver Broncos 22:16 on Sunday evening (local time). The Pittsburgh Steelers can also fix the playoff participation in the 13th week of the main round. The only undefeated team in the NFL will face the Washington Football team on Monday.
In the fight for the direct playoff ticket of the weak NFC East, the New York Giants managed an unexpected and important victory against the Seattle Seahawks.
