Shocking news for all football fans: The NFL mourns Marion Barber. The former Dallas Cowboys running back died on Wednesday (June 1, 2022) at the age of 38.
The NFL mourns the loss of a former star player: As it became known, ex-running back Marion Barber passed away. The longtime professional of the Dallas Cowboys was found dead in his apartment in Frisco, Texas on Wednesday (June 1, 2022), police said. Barber was only 38 years old.
Neighbors had previously alerted the police out of concern for the ex-NFL professional. On site, however, an emergency doctor who was called could only determine Barber’s death. How the American died is still unclear.

Barber played in the NFL from 2005 to 2011, initially for six years for the Dallay Cowboys, who selected the 6-foot, 220-pound running back in the fourth round of the University of Minnesota draft. In 2011, Barber played one more season for the Chicago Bears before announcing his retirement.
Fans and former teammates were shocked to hear the news of his death. Barber’s ex-team Dallas declared on his Social media channels: “We are shocked by the tragic death of Marion Barber. He was a hard-nosed, old-school American football player driven by the will to win every play.”
