NFL: Jayden Daniels to play in Chiefs first preseason game

The rookie quarterback Washington Leaders Jayden Daniels will play in the team’s first preseason game against the team New York JetsNext Saturday, head coach Dan Quinn showed up.

“We have started a process to prepare our players, and the games are important to gain experience and simply to go and play. I’m not just talking about Jayden, but everyone,” Quinn explained.

Daniels won the Heisman Trophy last season at LSU and was drafted second in the draft. Daniels had 3,812 passing yards and 40 touchdowns against just 4 interceptions and added 885 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns in 2023 with the Tigers.

Fourth 23 year old and Marcus Mariota competing for the starting quarterback position and their preseason performances will help decide between the two, explained Dan Quinn.

Daniels sees his first preseason game as a challenge he wants to take on. “It will be different, not just for me, but for the whole team. We know that this is the time to try to execute our games at a high level, but also to make mistakes. “We’ll see what we’re doing well, and what we’re not doing well, and we’ll try to fix that as we go,” said Daniels.
