NFL expands to New Zealand and Ghana

Since January 2022 the NFL has implemented the International Areas of Local Marketing (IHMA) and have now increased their presence in Oceania y Africa.

Through a press release, the NFL announced that the Phillies Eagles will have the IHMAs of Australia, New Zealand and Ghana. Also, the Los Angeles Rams will add New Zealand to their marketing zones.

In this way, the NFL expanded its marketing program to 19 teams and 30 international markets in 10 different countries. Both the Rams and Eagles can start their IHMA activities beginning June 1.

Peter O’Reilley, executive vice president of NFL events stated that this program has been a success for the league and he looks forward to seeing what the Eagles and Rams will do in their new markets.

“We’ve seen a lot of momentum since the teams entered their markets. From launching social digital network accounts, events in their markets, announcing draft picks around the world has allowed us to create special moments with international fans. We look forward to what the Eagles and Rams have planned for their new markets.”, he sentenced.

With the IHMA of the Eagles in Ghana, The NFL will establish a market on the African continent for the first time and already league already has plans to carry out activities.
