The defensive back of the Philadelphia Eagles Cooper DeJean impressed in his debut Saturday in a loss to the Don’t Vikings Minnesota.
The second-round draft pick had five tackles, including one for a loss, and a pass breakup in his first appearance on an NFL field, after being slowed by a hamstring injury that left him caused his team to lose his team’s first two preseason games.
Against the tenant Lucky JacksonDeJean forced three incomplete passes. The rookie played 43 plays on defense, standing out several times, and even returned a punt for 7 yards at the end of the game. It will be interesting to see where DeJean plays in Philly’s defense this season. One thing is for sure, it is a promising first game for the defensive back.
Frank Gore Jr. stands out against the Panthers
The son of prolific ball carrier Frank Gore looked like his father on Saturday against the Caroline Panthers.
The hiring of Bills of Buffalo had 101 yards rushing on 18 carries, and an interception. Gore Jr. did not go. to be selected in the final version. However, he had over 1,000 yards in his final two seasons with Southern Mississippi.
The running back is fighting for a spot on the Bills’ 53-man roster, but this performance could help solidify his presence in the lineup.
