The 2024 NFL Draft will begin in Detroit on the night of Thursday, April 25 to Friday, April 26. Starting at 02:00 in the morning (Spain time) the teams will begin to reveal their selections among the best university players in the country.
It will be the beginning of the first round of six in which this very peculiar way of ‘signing’ the future stars of American football consists. For three days (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) the NFL world is involved in a madness of transfers in the form of exchange of players and election options in search of a round move that will strengthen the team.
All pools in the form of ‘Mock Draft’ point to a clear usno number. USC quarterback Caleb Williams to be chosen by the Chicago Bears in the first position except for an unexpected bomb. Williams would arrive to be the team’s starting QB and form a fearsome attack along with the very powerful receiver duo formed by the newcomer Keenan Allen and DJ Moore.
A dubious podium
The choice ‘2’, ‘3’ and ‘4’ of this 2024 Draft seems more doubtful. The bets also place the quarterbacks Drake Maye y Jayden Daniels with a small advantage over the best ‘wide receiver’ of its generation: Marvin Harrison Jr. The ball is in the court of the Washington Commanders to whom it seems they have no choice but to opt for a QB to start a project.
The latest predictions published by the NFL:
The presence of a receiver like Marvin Harrison Jr, called to be one of the league’s greats, could tempt more than one team to opt for him instead of the current quarterback. We will see if New England Patriots or the aforementioned Commanders decide to take a chance on Harrison because it seems that the Cardinals are clear that their bet will be on the star receiver.
JJMcCarthy, Jayden Daniels and Michael Penix Jr complete a very outstanding list of top quarterbacks destined to be starters from day one. While Malik Nabers, Rome Odunze, Brian Thomas JR and the very fast Xavier Worthy (he broke the Combine’s 40-yard dash record) They appear as the most prominent names among the rest of ‘wide receivers’ signed up for the Draft.
The surprise
Among so many young stars the name of Brock Bowers. Without a doubt he is the best tight end in the entire draft and could be one of the big surprises if a team takes a chance on him. A case similar to that of ‘offensive tackle’ JC Latham, who some forecasts even place in the ‘top 5’ of the entire Draft.
