Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated’s “Monday Morning Quarterback” appeared on “The Dan Patrick Show” and said seven to 10 coaches could be fired after a tumultuous season for many franchises.
Breer had two directors, Dennis Allen; new orleans saints There’s also Robert Saleh of the New York Jets, who was already fired mid-season.
ERIC MANGINI isn’t ruling out the possibility of returning as head coach of the New York Jets.
“We have two, we have the Saints and the Jets, and I think we can agree that the Jags are kind of a fait accompli. So there are three, and Dallas seems to be going that way. It’s four. Now we just need three more. I think it’s between 7 and 10,” Breer said.
“I don’t think it will break the record or anything, but I think it will be around 7 or 10.”

Looking at the teams Breer mentioned, the Cowboys are expected to move on from head coach Mike McCarthy, whose contract expires after Week 18. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones hasn’t closed the door on a potential extension, but it’s hard to see McCarthy returning despite three straight 12-5 seasons in the years before 2024 if Dallas doesn’t finish.
Then again, Duval County has already let Doug Pederson out the door despite a similar situation with McCarthy, with the franchise sticking with him for a 2-9 season so far.
Other coaches on the hot seat include Brian Daboll (New York Giants), Matt Eberflus (Chicago Bears), Antonio Pierce (Las Vegas Raiders) and Zac Taylor (Cincinnati Bengals).
As for Daboll, Giants owner John Mara is confident in him, saying he doesn’t expect any changes to be made this offseason, not even to GM Joe Schoen, despite the Giants being 2-2 heading into Thanksgiving to face the Cowboys. expressed. 9 records.

## “Black Monday” Looms Large: NFL Coaching Carousel Expected to Spin This Offseason
Thanksgiving may be a time for feasting and football, but for NFL coaches, the holiday marks the countdown to a potentially career-altering event: “Black Monday.”
Traditionally, the day after the last Sunday of the regular season sees a wave of coaching changes across the league, as teams assess their performance and make decisions about their leaders. This year, analysts predict a particularly busy “Black Monday,” with potentially seven to ten coaches facing the axe.
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, speaking on “The Dan Patrick Show,” projected a hefty coaching turnover, citing several teams already teetering on the brink. He singled out the New Orleans Saints (under Dennis Allen) and the New York Jets (recently making a mid-season change to replace Robert Saleh) as likely candidates for changes. Breer also pointed to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Dallas Cowboys as franchises likely to part ways with their current leaders, Doug Pederson and Mike McCarthy respectively.
The Cowboys’ situation, in particular, is generating considerable speculation. Despite three consecutive 12-5 seasons, McCarthy’s contract expires after Week 18, leaving his future in Dallas uncertain. While owner Jerry Jones hasn’t definitively ruled out a contract extension, the pressure to deliver a deep playoff run this season is immense.
This precariousness echoes Jacksonville’s situation with Pederson.
Despite achieving a respectable season, Pederson was dismissed, highlighting the cutthroat nature of the NFL and the constant pressure to win.
Breer’s prediction of seven to ten coaching changes suggests that 2024 could be a particularly volatile offseason. Several other teams, including the carousel-prone Arizona Cardinals and the struggling Indianapolis Colts, are considered potential candidates for coaching shakeups. “Black Monday” 2024 promises to be a pivotal moment for many franchises, shaping the landscape of the NFL for seasons to come.
