NFL: coach hammer – Rodgers club New York Jets release Robert Saleh | sport

The hammer trainer in NFL!

The New York Jets have fired their head coach Robert Saleh (45). Defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich (47) will take over as interim coach until the end of the season.

The Jets started the tour with high expectations. Superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers (40) returned after tearing his Achilles tendon. Last time he only played four games. However, the Jets current record after five games is mixed. Two wins against three losses. And: Like last season, the Jets scored 93 points in the first five games of the season. So there has been no progress yet.

Team owner Woody Johnson (77) said: “This morning I told Robert Saleh that he will no longer be the head coach of the Jets. I thanked him for his hard work over the past three and a half years and wished him and his family all the best for the future. This was not an easy decision, but we are not where we should be given our expectations and I believe that now is the best time for us to move in another way.”

Johnson continued: “Jeff Ulbrich will be our interim coach for the rest of the season. He is a tough coach who is respected by the coaches and players on this team. I am confident that, together with the coaches on this team, he can get the most out of our talented team and achieve the goals we have set for ourselves this season.”

Saleh took over in 2021, winning just 20 of his 56 matches. Update: For the first time in his 25-year tenure, team owner Johnson fired a coach in the middle of the season. After a disappointing seven wins and ten losses last season, Johnson admitted he was “angry” about the Jets’ performance and put the pressure on Saleh.

Recently there were rumors that the relationship of the coach with the superstar Aaron Rodgers was no better. However, the quarterback denied this on The Pat McAfee Show, saying: “Rob and I have a great relationship. We’ve had them since the first day I got here. We write to each other and have threads where we talk about different topics outside of football. We have a good relationship.”

But that didn’t save Saleh’s job either…
