Cincinnati – The Cincinnati Bengals have to do without their quarterback Joe Burrow for the rest of this season in the American football league NFL.
He has to undergo surgery for a torn ligament in his right wrist. This was announced by the 26-year-old and Bengals coach Zac Taylor.
The playmaker had been injured the day before in his team’s 20:34 defeat at the Baltimore Ravens. Burrow landed on his wrist after attempting a throw and didn’t notice the injury until the next throw. After his departure, he was replaced by Jake Browning, who could now take on the role of quarterback for the rest of the season.
The Bengals suffered their fifth defeat of the season against Baltimore in the tenth game and are in last place in the AFC North. Two years ago, Burrow led the team to the Super Bowl, where they lost 20:23 to the Los Angeles Rams.
