The NFL reminded team personnel who remain on the sidelines during games that regulations established in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic require the use of masks or face shields. On Sunday there were several games in which team personnel – apart from the players – were seen without any type of face shield.

Troy Vincent, who oversees the league’s sports operations, sent a memo to all 32 teams on Monday, stressing that “we must remain vigilant and disciplined in complying with the processes and protocols established not only by the league, unions and teams. , but also by state and municipal authorities ”.

After congratulating the teams for overcoming the challenges of the coronavirus and starting the regular season on time, Vincent strongly warned of non-compliance with sanitary measures.

He referred to the protocols for game days created by the league and the NFL players union and that follow the recommendations of experts in contagious diseases, medical personnel of the teams and the regulations of the governments at the state and municipal levels.

Such protocols require that all individuals having access to the bench area, including coaches and members of the teams’ medical staff, wear face shields at all times.

“Failure to adhere to this requirement will result in the imposition of accountability measures against individuals and / or clubs that do not comply,” the memo stated. “Face shields must be used properly so that they fit securely around the nose and mouth of the wearer and prevent the spread of the virus.”

During Sunday night’s game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Rams, Los Angeles head coach Sean McVay was repeatedly spotted without a mask. And he was not the only coach or member of a team who did not respect the rules of face protection during the 13 games on Sunday.
