Neymar Jr. Gambling on Twitch – Biggest Streamer ‘would be banned in 4 days’
What happened? On March 28th, the Brazilian soccer professional Neymar Jr. appeared on Twitch. He has been seen playing games like Counter-Strike, Among Us and Fortnite in the past, and the striker recently streamed gambling for the first time. Casino streams are very controversial in the Twitch community, so opinions differ about the appearance of the soccer star.
Double standards on Twitch: xQc is the biggest streamer on Twitch. Until September 2022, the native Canadian himself streamed gambling and commented on the soccer star’s casino appearance. xQc bet half a million on a World Cup game and received criticism. It’s not about complaining about Neymar for the streamer. Rather, he criticizes Twitch for the apparent double standard when it comes to gambling content on the platform. We have included a clip of Lengyel at this point.
„If me and Train [anderer großer Casino Streamer, Anm. d. Red.] doing that on this site we would probably be banned in 4 days‘ the Twitch star assumes, stunned. xQc clarifies that he is not referring to the “Anti-Twitch“ movement wants to jump up, but he complains that the streaming platform would choose favorites. He seems to think that Twitch only allows Neymar’s casino stream because he is a popular soccer star.
Neymar streams gambling on Twitch – fans say “he can do what he wants”
Fans react: „It’s Neymar, he can do whatever he wants. It’s bigger than Twitch“, many fans comment on the xQc clip and think that the streamer shouldn’t complain. While some fans agree with the Twitch star, most don’t see a problem with Neymar’s casino stream.
Gambling ban on Twitch
Since October 2022, some casino content has been banned on Twitch. Initially, it was announced that all unlicensed gambling offerings would disappear, but the new rule was only actually implemented for a few providers. Online casinos like Stake, Rollbit and Duelbets have been banned on Twitch since the change. Sports betting, fantasy sports and poker are even explicitly allowed according to the community guidelines.
The rules look like this: The soccer star streamed gambling on an offer allowed on Twitch, so a ban seems unlikely. Many of the fans also point out to xQc that casino streams have never been completely banned. However, the streaming platform is known for implementing its own rules in a very opaque manner, so the Twitch star could still have a valid objection.
