The Champions League game between PSG and Basaksehir was initially interrupted after an alleged incident of racism and later finally canceled.
“It’s a very serious issue, very sensitive. Unfortunately, this situation has arisen and it’s annoying,” Neymar told the French football program TELEFOOT. The Parisian superstar had already experienced racism this season.
During the Ligue 1 game between PSG and Marseille, Neymar and opponent Alvaro Gonzalez allegedly insulted each other racially. With the previous knowledge from this week, Neymar would have reacted differently in mid-September.

For Neymar and Alvaro, the skirmish at the time did not have any serious consequences. Due to a lack of evidence, both were acquitted by the Disciplinary Committee.
