PSG winger says he doesn’t have the mental capacity to hold on to football until the 2026 World Cup
Neymar admitted that the next World Cup in Qatar will be his last. This Sunday, the Brazilian ace released his latest documentary, ‘Neymar & The Line of Kings’, and it includes statements from the player indicating that he should not participate in a World Cup for Brazil after 2022.
“I think it will be my last Worlds [Qatar’22]. I don’t know if I’ll have the mental strength to put up with football any longer,” said the 29-year-old PSG star. Having seen his last two attempts to lift the trophy fail, with Brazil reaching the semi-finals in 2014 (defeat 7-1 against Germany) and for the quarter-finals in 2018 (defeat by 2-1 against Belgium), Neymar took the opportunity to ensure that, despite being his last World Cup, he will do everything to win the trophy.
“I’ll do everything to get to the World Cup very well, I’ll do everything to win with my country and make my biggest dream come true since I was a child. I hope I can achieve it”, assured the captain of the Canarian national team.
Thus, if Neymar’s ‘prognosis’ comes to be verified, the winger will no longer be present at the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico, having only one more chance to reach the sixth World Cup in history of the Brazilian team.
