Neymar Jr. is still suffering after Brazil lost the Copa America final to Argentina this summer. Unfortunately, his Argentine team-mates at Paris Saint-Germain don’t make it easy for him to forget him. The Brazilian couldn’t help but respond to a photo on Leandro Paredes’ Instagram of Angel Di Maria and Lionel Messi while relaxing in a living room with the Copa America trophy casually standing next to them.
In the photo, the three PSG players appear to be lounging in a living room while they watch TV and enjoy a few drinks. The trophy lies on the floor next to Messi as if it had a life of its own. In the caption, Paredes said, “Bien acompañados (Good company).”
The three Argentina internationals are clearly having fun when they put salt on the wounds of their Brazilian team-mate. Strangely, Neymar couldn’t hold back from striking back with an insult. He commented on “p * tos” in the post, but the laugh / cry emoji made it clear that he was just kidding. It’s a carefree moment that gives a rare glimpse into the banter in the PSG dressing room.
Other Argentine players couldn’t help but speak up too. Aston Villa and Argentinian goalkeeper Emi Martinez wrote: “Que photo casual (What a casual photo)” and added: “@angeldimariajm ponele agua al mate (Angel, put some water in).”
Tottenham Hotspur and Argentine player Giovani Lo Celso also joined in the fun, commenting on a series of flame emojis.
While there is no real animosity in the PSG dressing room, Neymar is certainly outnumbered as the Argentine players have been able to recruit their captain for the club. In any case, the relationship between Neymar and Messi has always been viewed as good and dates back to their time as team-mates at FC Barcelona.
