Nike and soccer superstar Neymar ended their partnership last year. And now it comes out why the sporting goods giant broke up with the soccer superstar: Neymar is said to have molested a Nike employee! This is what the American “Wall Street Journal” reports.
In August 2020, Nike did not give an official reason for the premature end of the contract with Neymar, which should actually continue for eight years at this point.
But now an insider reports to the “Wall Street Journal” that Neymar is said to have sexually harassed a marketing employee of the company.
The woman had told both friends and work colleagues at Nike in 2016 that Neymar wanted to force her to have oral sex in his hotel room in New York City.
Neymar denies the allegations. His spokeswoman says: “Neymar Jr. will vigorously defend himself against these unfounded attacks if an allegation is made which has not yet been made.” The spokeswoman reportedly further said that Nike and Neymar broke up for commercial reasons.
The Nike employee filed a complaint with Nike in 2018 and described the incident to the HR manager and a company lawyer.
