With Killian Mbabane under a new contract and several leading players imminent, Paris Saint-Germain are planning an attack. However, Neymar may not be.
Paris Saint-Germain wants to play for the Champions League title next year. The French spend a lot of money on this. Killian Mbabane’s contract was extended on outrageously expensive salaries (read more about it here), with the likes of Milan Scriniari (Inter Milan) and Renato Sanchez (OSC Lille) adding several newcomers to the team.
The position of the trainer can also change. According to media reports, Mauricio Pochettino will step down and be replaced by Christophe Galtier (OGC Nice).
In addition, the team can leave the top star: Neymar. Rumors of the Brazilian’s possible exit have been circulating for quite some time. President Nasser al-Khalaifi recently emphasized in interviews that he would not name any names: “We expect all players to do a lot more than they did last season. Much more! The goal for next season is clear: 200 percent of the day working.” Asked about Neymar’s concrete future, al-Khalaifi told Spanish sports daily Marca: “We can’t talk about it in the media, some will come, some will go, but these are private conversations.”
Interest from Turin and London
While Neymar’s contract extension is optional, it’s not the same as refusing a move. According to Spanish newspaper As, PSG and Juventus have already started negotiations on a possible deal. According to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea is also said to be interested in the 30-year-old.
The Frenchman’s transfer fee is not yet publicly known. But the 222 million euros that Paris handed over to Barcelona in August 2017 are unlikely to be.
