Barcelona

President Barcelona Joan Laporta opens the door again Neymar and Lionel Messi. However, Barca will only accommodate the two players if their transfer is free.

Neymar and Messi have both ushered in the golden era of Barca. Neymar strengthen Blaugrana over four seasons to win eight trophies, including the treble in 2015. The Brazilian football superstar then moved to Paris Saint-Germain after his release clause was redeemed for 222 million euros in 2017.

Too bad career Neymar from PSG considered not meeting expectations despite having recorded 100 goals and 60 assists. The 30-year-old footballer is often plagued with injuries and his lifestyle often draws the spotlight. PSG are said to have been “tired” of Neymar so that they included him in the list of players sold this summer.

Meanwhile Lionel Messi moved to Paris last summer after more than two decades of being affiliated with Barca. Messi has won 35 trophies with Barca, including 10 LaLiga titles, seven Copa del Rey and four Champions Leagues. A total of 672 goals and 302 assists were recorded by Messi which made him the greatest player in the history of the Catalan club.

Just like Neymar, Messi was less shiny in his first season at PSG after “only” contributed 11 goals and 14 assists. The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner is still being linked with a return to Barca despite being under contract until next season.

Reporta says Barcelona want to come back reinforced by Neymar and Messi. However, according to him, it does not make sense if Barca have to pay for the transfer of the two top players.

“Who doesn’t like Ney?” Reporta revealed to The Sportswhich was gazetted ESPN. “He’s an extraordinary player, but he still has some left [tiga] years on his contract with PSG.”

“He’s effectively enslaved by money. The only way he can get back to Barca is on a free transfer. It would make no sense to pay a transfer fee for a player you once had.”

“Leo went the way he left. We all would love for him to end his sporting career here, but because of the rules of fair play [LaLiga] and because of PSG’s offer, it became impossible.”

“If he wants to return one day, the transfer must be free, and the technical staff will decide whether he fits into the new plan or not,” Laporta added of the opportunity. Neymar and Messi back to Barcelona.
