Neymar may not play until the end of the year in Ligue 1. Will the Brazilian be suspended?

The meeting, announced as the hit of the third Ligue 1 round, ended in a huge scandal. The referee punished five players with red cards, but this is only the beginning of the sanctions for some of them. One of them is Neymar, who was initially suspended for two games for a physical attack on an opponent. The insults between the players were considered separately and here the Brazilian is facing a much longer forced break. The Paris Saint-Germain footballer was about to be insulted by Alvaro Gonzalez on a racist basis, but previously addressed Hiroki Sakai in a similar way himself. In addition, he made homophobic comments to the Spaniard.

Even after the game, emotions did not subside. Gonalez posted on Twitter a statement stressing that he did not condone racism. Neymar replied that the footballer Olympique de Marseille, in his opinion, is not a real man and does not respect him.

League officials are closely watching the case. If Neymar is punished for insulting his rivals on a homophobic and racist basis, he will face up to 20 additional suspension meetings. That means the Brazilian might not be playing Ligue 1 until the end of the year. The verdict on this issue is to be announced in the next few days.

Neymar is waiting for a decision to be announced and has so far missed two meetings in a row due to the first suspension. On Sunday his team will play away from the Stade de Reims.
