The Rio de Janeiro Court suspended the collection of a fine of R$16 million imposed on Neymar due to the work on the artificial lake built in a mansion in Mangaratiba, on Rio de Janeiro’s Costa Verde.
What happened
Judge Adriana Ramos de Mello cited a recent Inea report in her decision. The agency ruled out environmental irregularities in the construction. He pointed out that the artificial lake “was implemented in 2007”, by the former owner of the property, and that Neymar “carried out landscaping renovation”.
“(…) an inspection report issued by the State Institute of the Environment of Rio de Janeiro, the body responsible for licensing the aforementioned activities, came to light, certifying that licensing was not required and, furthermore, that the situations reported in the infraction reports were not present.“, says an excerpt from the document.
