Neymar after Santos’ landing: We will laugh again

Brazilian Neymar Jr., the striker of Al Hilal’s first football team, reacted to the relegation of Santos, the Brazilian team of his beginnings, to the second division for the first time in its history, which extends about 111 years.
Neymar expressed his confidence in the return of the former club of the late legend Pele to its former glory, and wrote on social media platforms: “Santos will remain Santos, and we will laugh again.”
Neymar has a great relationship with the Santos club, which witnessed the beginning of his stardom, where he played for them during the period from 2009 until 2013, and achieved many achievements with them, most notably the 2011 Libertadores Cup.
Santos bid farewell to the Brazilian Primera Division after losing to Fortaleza 1-2 on Thursday.
Santos was one of only 3 teams, along with Sao Paulo and Flamengo, that did not experience relegation from the Brazilian Premier League throughout its history, but it failed to achieve any victory in 5 consecutive matches, which caused it to fall to 17th place among the 20 championship teams with 43 points.
Santos seemed close to maintaining its position in the senior league when it was tied 1-1 with Fortaleza in the second half, and Vasco da Gama was also tied with Bragantino 1-1.
But Vasco da Gama’s winning goal, scored by Serginho in the 82nd minute, and Fortaleza’s winning goal in stoppage time, which was scored by Lucerno, confirmed the relegation of Santos, who had won the league title eight times and won the Copa Libertadores three times.
