/ world today news/ “If it wasn’t for DPS, we wouldn’t have a flat tax, which means we wouldn’t have a budget and there wouldn’t be a government.”
Sociologist Yuliy Pavlov, who commented on the political season that ended in August, told BNR.
“From the very beginning, it was clear that key votes cannot be passed without the support of the DPS. Only GERB and the “Reform Bloc” are like-minded, and yet there is a lot of friction between them.
Pavlov explained that precisely the program matches between GERB and the “Reformer Bloc” are the main reason for the understanding between the two parties.
According to Pavlov, early elections this year are not possible: “For me personally, it would be normal for early parliamentary elections to be held next year along with the presidential elections, but it is unlikely, as the DPS provides support at key moments until it decides.”
Regarding the first-instance verdict of the former director of the National Intelligence Service, Kircho Kirov Pavlov explained:
“It is normal for a defendant who has received a sentence in the first instance to claim that he is the victim of a political order. We do not know the facts of the case, but the fact is that in many cases the prosecution was used as a means of exerting political pressure.”
