It will gradually warm up in the Czech Republic next week, with temperatures rising to 25 degrees Celsius over the weekend. It slowly cools for the rest of September. It will rain less than usual. This follows from the monthly weather outlook published by the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute.

Temperatures for the week of September 7 will be slightly above average, according to meteorologists. The lowest night temperatures are expected to be around 11 degrees Celsius at the beginning of the week, only around six degrees on Tuesday night, and will reach 14 degrees at the end of the week. “Initially, the maximum daily temperatures will be only around 19 degrees, during the week they will rise, at the end of the week we expect around 25 degrees Celsius,” added CHMI.

According to meteorologists, the next three weeks will be above average to average. Weekly averages of the lowest night temperatures assume around eight degrees and the highest daily temperatures around 19 degrees Celsius.

The long-term average temperature for the period from September 7 to October 4 is 12.5 degrees Celsius. According to records kept since 1951 in 1975, the warmest was 15.3 degrees, while the lowest average of 8.4 degrees Celsius was recorded by meteorologists in 1972.

According to the CHMI, it will probably rain in the next four weeks on average to slightly below average. “Weekly totals will usually be in the range of six to ten millimeters,” he added. The average total precipitation for the next four weeks is 47 millimeters. So far, the most precipitation fell in 1998, when meteorologists measured 104 liters per square meter. It rained the least in 1959 with a total of two millimeters.

The monthly outlook expresses the overall nature of the weather, therefore it does not cover all possible fluctuations, warns the CHMI. According to meteorologists, the success of the outlook is around 75 percent at temperatures and around 65 percent at precipitation. The forecast for the third and fourth weeks is often close to the long-term climatic values for the respective periods.
