Next week will immediately start with a bang, thanks to the opening of the Atlantic Gate: already from Monday 6 March the arrival of an Atlantic perturbation is expected which will bring rainfall to various regions, even locally intense and possible return of snowfalls to the Alps (even abundant).
The latest updates have just confirmed what had already emerged in the last few hours, or one release of the atmosphere on a continental level with the recovery of the disturbed Atlantic flowthe beating heart of the disturbances for Europe.
This situation, if confirmed, would represent a fundamental turning point with respect to a stasis which, with a few quick exceptions, has now lasted too long, a veritable breath of oxygen pearls of our thirsty lands, given the serious crisis linked to Drought which is afflicting the North in particular.
The map below (relative to Monday 6 March) highlights one well disturbance arriving from the Atlantic (indicated by the letter “B“), also ready to invest in Italy. In such a context, they cannot be excluded heavy rainfall, in particular in the North East, on the Tyrrhenian sectors and on the two Major Islands, perhaps alternating with sunny breaks. Not only. The Alps would be ready to fill up with snowafter a rather stingy Winter of precipitation, with phenomena expected above 800/1000 meters of altitude, especially in the Dolomites, then extending to the Apennine ridge (however, we will have time and opportunity to return to these details in our next updates).
Subsequently, after a temporary break characterized by sunnier weather, it is not excluded that bad weather could return between Thursday 9 and Friday 10, with the “door of perturbations“ downhill from the North Atlantic which would remain so well open for the passage of further unstable and fresh lunges, making this beginning of meteorological spring in fact stormy.
