Next week’s Wednesday will probably be the warmest day in Latvia this month, but on Thursday a sharp drop in temperature is expected and the wind may reach the strength of the storm, according to the current forecast of the Global Forecast System.
The heat will increase in the western and central part of Europe, in the next few days the air temperature will rise above +30 .. + 35 degrees in many places. The highest air temperature in Latvia is expected on Wednesday, September 16, when the thermometer bar will reach +21 .. + 25 degrees, slightly colder weather will remain in places on the coast.
In the middle of the week, the cyclone in the Baltic Sea region will intensify rapidly, and the anticyclone will come from the west. Depending on the location and direction of the cyclone, west and north winds will take effect in Latvia on Thursday. On the coast, including in Riga, it can turn into a storm.
It is expected that in the second half of the week Latvia will have the coldest time since spring. The maximum air temperature on Thursday and Friday will probably not exceed +10 .. + 15 degrees. From the weekend, frosts are possible, especially in the eastern part of the country.
Only occasional rain is expected, there will be more precipitation on Monday night and morning, as well as on Thursday.
