The number of beds in intensive care (ic) will be increased from 1,350 to 1,450 next week. This is reported by Ernst Kuipers, chairman of the National Network Acute Care (LNAZ).
“For the sake of continuity of care, the ROAZ regions (Regional Consultation Acute Care Chain, ed.) Are currently preparing for an upscaling of their joint IC capacity to 1,450 beds in the course of next week,” says Kuipers.
If the number of corona patients continues to increase, the number of IC beds can be scaled up to seventeen hundred. Before the corona crisis, the Netherlands had 1,150 operational IC beds.
There are now 1,085 patients in all intensive care units in the Netherlands. 625 of them are infected with the corona virus.
