Weather: Change is brewing next week and the second half of July can be out of control
Screenings for next weekAfter the storm break on Thursday 7 and the expansion of the Azores high pressure expected for the weekend, the latest updates begin to outline a new marked change of the time, expected in the course of next week. And it does not end there: the trend for the second half of July is starting to get pretty worrying with temperatures that could even get out of control.
The first days of next week will pass under the banner of stable and sunny weather, as well as temperature values substantially on average with the period, pleasant. However, our focus shifts to Wednesday 13 / Thursday 14 July when a synoptic regime change is expected.
As has already happened several times in this first part of Summer a particular configuration will be repeated in central and southern Europe: the Omega block.
In summary, we can identify it as an anticyclonic area “blocked and fed” by two low pressure centers, located on its flanks (one in the Atlantic Ocean, off the Iberian Peninsula and the other in south-eastern Europe) and able to station in a large area for a long time: it is responsible for the now typical heat waves of the summer months, as well as a block of atmospheric dynamism.
The most important effects will be on temperature: given the sub-tropical origin of the air masses, in addition to the much sun, we expect a new and stronger surge in thermal values: this will result in new heat waves, with thermometers ready to splash, this time diffusely , over 35/36 ° Cbut locally also up to 39/40°C on the plains of the North and on the inland areas of Sardinia and Sicily.
In short, even if there are still several days to go, the probabilities of a new long one are exponentially increasing hot and dry phase all over Italy; this atmospheric block, in fact, is likely to drag on even during the last ten days of the month.
The most worrying data undoubtedly concerns the rains: no precipitation is expected important and all this, if confirmed, would further aggravate the drought problem, which has been out of control for several months.
Next week: a new heat wave is coming from the African anticyclone
