Autobahn GmbH announces further renovation work on the A5 near Frankfurt. There will be restrictions for weeks.

Frankfurt – The renovation work on the A3 and A5 near Frankfurt continues. After the Frankfurt-Süd junction and the Frankfurter Kreuz junction, we now head towards Frankfurt Airport. There will be closures from Friday (September 27th) – and this will last for several weeks. This is reported by Autobahn GmbH. The work is not scheduled to end until October 21st.

What exactly is planned? The roadway at the A5 junction Zeppelinheim (Offenbach district) is being completely renovated. A total of four construction phases are planned, in which there will be different closures.

A5 construction site moves again – next renovation cut

The ramp from the A5 in the direction of Basel to the L3262 in the direction of Zeppelinheim and the ramp from the L3262/Zeppelinheim to the A5 in the direction of Basel will initially be closed from Friday. Traffic on the main carriageway of the A5 in the direction of Basel remains unaffected. The work is scheduled to be completed on Monday (September 30th) at 5 a.m. Until then, traffic that wants to get onto the A5 in the direction of Basel will take the U36 L3262, B44 and B486 to the AS Langen/Mörfelden (24), from there you enter the A5 in the direction of Basel.

Second construction phase on the A5 construction site from September 30th

The second construction phase will follow on the A5 near Frankfurt from September 30th to October 11th. The ramp from the A5 in the direction of Basel to the L3262 in the direction of Zeppelinheim remains closed. In addition, the driving relationship from Cargo City Süd (Terminal 3 at Frankfurt Airport) to the A5 will be in the direction of travel Kassel blocked. Traffic that wants to leave the A5 in the direction of Zeppelinheim will continue to be redirected via the small-scale diversion U31 in the AS Zeppelinheim (turnaround). Traffic that wants to get onto the A5 in the direction of Kassel is routed via the U50 first to the A5 in the direction of Basel and to AS Langen/Mörfelden. In the AS there is a turnaround to the A5 in the direction of Kassel, as Autobahn GmbH reports.

Information about the third and fourth construction phases will only be announced in the coming weeks. One thing is certain: In total there will be restrictions for almost a month. Meanwhile, it should be clarified on Friday whether there will be another closure on the A5 between Niederrad and the Westkreuz.
