Newspaper Mail | Two die in shootout between police and drug dealers in Fazenda Grande 4

Two men were killed during an exchange of fire involving military police from the 22nd Battalion of the PM, a team from the Independent Company of Tactical Policing (CIPT) Rondesp Central and suspected leaders of drug trafficking in the Fazenda Grande 4 neighborhood, in Salvador, at night this Friday (30).

Local businesses even closed their doors in the neighborhood, and the transit of buses and cars was temporarily modified due to the intense exchange of gunfire.

In a statement, the Civil Police reported that the military caught several armed suspects during a raid on the neighborhood. The suspects would have shot at the vehicles, and the agents retaliated.

Still according to the PM’s note, the two men shot were part of the criminal group.

The two suspects were rescued by the police and taken to the Eládio Lasserre Hospital, but they did not resist and died.

Civil Police reported that they seized two pistols, portions of cocaine, marijuana, crack, and nine cell phones during the approach.

All seized material was forwarded to the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP).
