From December, Salvador will have another direct flight to Madrid, Spain. The expansion comes after a meeting between the airline Air Europa and the Minister of Tourism, Celso Sabino, who was in the Spanish capital this week.

Currently, there are already two flights on Wednesdays and Fridays. The third flight will open in December. The day of the week has not yet been announced.

The Salvador-Madrid air route was suspended during the pandemic and resumed in December last year with two weekly flights leaving Bahia soil at 10:55 pm with almost 300 passengers and expected to land in Madrid at 11:25 am. Upon return, flight UX83 departs the Spanish capital at 3:25 pm, arriving in Salvador at 8:30 pm.

The flight schedules, according to Air Europa, allow connections in Madrid to several European destinations, such as Barcelona, Porto, Lisbon, Vigo, Zurich, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Rome and Milan, among others.

The flight is made with the Dreamliner 787 aircraft, one of the most sustainable and efficient on the market.
