The singers Preta Gil, 49 years old, and Simony, 47 years old, had an emotional meeting this Tuesday (29). The two were diagnosed with bowel cancer and met at Hospital Sirio-Libanês, where Preta is recovering after surgery to remove the tumor.
“How I’ve waited for this meeting, Simony! You are pure light, your strength gives me strength, thank you for not letting go of my hand during this treatment!!!!”, said Preta, in a post about the meeting. “I love you. Let’s get together to receive this healing that has already come to us !!”, she completed.
In the video, the two cry together. “I am very happy. We were never close, but now it seems that you are a piece of my heart”, says Simony.
Simony was diagnosed with bowel cancer in August 2022, and has undergone cycles of chemotherapy and chemoradiotherapy. Last July, she announced that the disease had gone into remission.
Preta was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in January of this year. During treatment, she had sepsis and almost died. On the last day 16, she stated that she no longer has cancer cells. “The surgery was a success, we had a total removal of the tumor with a margin and that means that, at the moment, my body is free of these cells, but the cure is a process”, stated Preta.
