The Panorama film festival, produced 14 years ago, will not be held in 2023 and was postponed to 2024. According to the organizers, Panorama had been sponsored by the Government of the State of Bahia, through Secult, since 2012 through the Edict Calendarizados, which was interrupted.
In April, Secult informed that, in order to adapt to the new Regulatory Framework for Civil Society Organizations (MROSC), the Call for Scheduled Cultural Events would be improved. The forecast was that the new edict would be reopened later this year.
For this edition, the event was only sponsored by the Flávia Abubakir Institute, which partially guarantees the festival.
According to the production, registrations have been open since March, with the participation of 1,350 films. Around 220 Brazilian feature films were entered, considered a record. A team of eight curators had already seen a good part of this material and are still analyzing each film.
The new date for Panorama will be March 14-21, 2024.
CORREIO sought out Secult to confirm the forecast for re-launching the public notice, but did not receive a response.
