Colégio Antônio Vieira, located in Garcia, Salvador, suspended night classes this Monday (4) due to intense armed conflicts in the regions of Alto das Pombas and Calabar.
According to the institution’s press office, at night, classes are held for full-time scholarship students. “Some students and employees live in these areas, so the school suspended the night shift”, he declared.
In schools in the municipal network of Salvador located in the Alto das Pombas neighborhood and surroundings, classes were suspended in the morning.
According to the Municipal Secretary of Education (Smed), the municipal schools Conjunto Assistencial Nossa Senhora de Fátima, Casa da Amizade, Professor Antônio Carlos Onofre and the Municipal Centers of Early Childhood Education Tertuliano de Góis and Calabar had their activities suspended. In all, 1,042 students are without classes.
In the state network, according to the Department of Education, it was reported that schools opened, but had little attendance.
