This agreement, signed by the Cabildo through Tenerife Tourism with the prestigious Basque training centre, seeks to “promote excellence in the island’s gastronomic sector and is a comprehensive training programme aimed at the island’s professional talent, as well as innovation and the promotion of Tenerife cuisine,” highlights the Vice President and Minister of Tourism, Lope Afonso.
Lope Afonso states that “our objective is to be more competitive as a tourist destination and to promote the development of the Tenerife economy, always betting on the continuous training of our professionals”, and adds that “Tenerife is a leading and cutting-edge destination in terms of gastronomy, where our cultural identity, sustainability, the quality of our products, as well as the excellence of the talent of our professionals take priority. We contribute to the continuous training of our professionals and to being more competitive as a tourist destination”.
The content of the action will include training actions for talent in Tenerife to improve training in the gastronomic sector, through the brand ‘Tenerife, awakens emotions’. This training block will be developed through online training and training activities at the destination, and its target audience will be professionals, teachers and students.
