A major search operation was launched after an elderly man did not reach the finish line during an orienteering race on Saturday.

The orienteering race was arranged in Gjelleråsmarka in Nittedal. The operations manager in the Eastern police district, Gisle Sveen, states that the start was at 11.19, and that the police were notified three hours later.
– Then the missing person should have been at the finish line, but he is not. We are on site with search crews, the operations manager told RB at 4 pm on Saturday.
Three hours later, the police report that the man has been found safe and sound, and that the search has thus ended.
