On the last day of the year, the news came that the nightclub Hydranten in the center of Jessheim will be closed. After 25 years as a nightlife bastion in Storgata, the doors are now closed for good.
According to owner Christian Taalesen, there is no drama in the liquidation.
– There is no reason to hide that it has been tough to be in the nightlife industry in the pandemic after March 12, 2020, and I have decided to close the Hydrant department to concentrate on further operation of the company and the places I already am. part of, says Taalesen in a press release.

Taalesen believes the time was now right to end a piece of significant nightlife history in the center of Jessheim.
– Since the lease for Hydranten expires in the new year, I have in dialogue with the farm owner agreed not to renew it.
Taalesen makes no secret of the fact that it is with a certain sadness that he closes the doors to Hydranten.
– After all, it is the first nightclub I was with and opened here in the city, so Hydranten has had a special place in my heart. At the same time, the premises are so dilapidated that I have decided to use my strength on the remaining restaurants I am involved in.

Gets new premises
In the press release, Taalesen also comes with a news item.
The restaurant Mirabel – in which Taalesen is a co-owner – moves into the premises of Munnfull, as earlier this year wound up its business.
The plan is to develop a restaurant the size of Sørenga and Lillestrøm.
– We need more seating and larger outdoor seating here at Jessheim as well.
The plan is to open a new Mirabel at Jessheim during March / April.
