At least seven people perished in the floods that occurred overnight from Wednesday to Thursday in New York (United States) in the wake of Hurricane Ida, police sources told AFP.
Kathy Hochul, Governor of New York State, and Bill de Blasio, outgoing mayor of America’s economic and cultural capital, have declared a “state of emergency” following massive flooding that potentially affects some 20 million inhabitants.
